Belief and Faith

Matthew 22:34-40 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL your heart

Do we love God more than anything else?

What are we willing to do for God?

Do we need spiritual CPR?

1Corinthians 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (spiritually dead/dying)

Revelation 3:14-22 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Be thee either hot or cold but not luke warm

I will spue thee out of my mouth

Where is your passion which comes from your heart?

Where is your first love?

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Be thee neither luke warm or cold but be thee hot

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

The pure in heart will see God

If one does not have a pure heart they will not see God

†(I will spue thee out of my mouth)

1John 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Our heart needs to walk in the light as He is in the light

†We need to stay far away from the shadows

†We need to continually confess our sins (to God)

†and receive His faithful forgiveness

††††† We should do everything possible to have and maintain a spiritually health heart. Our spiritually healthy heart will lead us by creating a desire to follow God fully and in love. Our heart needs to be in the light and fed by the light.

††††† If you do not know God, or your heart is spiritually ill, we would love to teach you how to have the peace that lightens your load and lights up your life. Salvation CAN be yours. Act know before it is too late.

PROFESSOR: You are a Christian, arenít you, son?

STUDENT: Yes, sir.

PROFESSOR: So, you believe in GOD?

STUDENT: Absolutely, sir.

PROFESSOR: Is GOD all powerful?

PROFESSOR: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didnít. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

PROFESSOR: You canít answer, can you? Letís start again, young fella. Is GOD good?

PROFESSOR: Is Satan good?

PROFESSOR: Where does Satan come from?

PROFESSOR: Thatís right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

PROFESSOR: Evil is everywhere, isnít it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

PROFESSOR: So who created evil?

(Student did not answer.)

PROFESSOR: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, donít they?

STUDENT: Yes, sir.

PROFESSOR: So, who created them?

(Student had no answer.)

PROFESSOR: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?

STUDENT: No, sir.

PROFESSOR: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

STUDENT: No, sir.

PROFESSOR: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?

STUDENT: No, sir. Iím afraid I havenít.

PROFESSOR: Yet you still believe in Him?

PROFESSOR: According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesnít exist. What do you say to that, son?

STUDENT: Nothing. I only have my faith.

PROFESSOR: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.

STUDENT: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

STUDENT: And is there such a thing as cold?

STUDENT: No, sir. There isnít.

(The lecture theater became very quiet with this turn of events.)

STUDENT: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we donít have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we canít go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.)

STUDENT: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

PROFESSOR: Yes. What is night if there isnít darkness?

STUDENT: Youíre wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isnít it? In reality, darkness isnít. If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldnít you?

PROFESSOR: So what is the point you are making, young man?

STUDENT: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

PROFESSOR: Flawed? Can you explain how?

STUDENT: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science canít even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

PROFESSOR: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

STUDENT: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

STUDENT: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

STUDENT: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professorís brain?

(The class broke out into laughter.)

STUDENT: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professorís brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

PROFESSOR: I guess youíll have to take them on faith, son.

STUDENT: That is it sir Ö Exactly! The link between man and GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

P.S. By the way, that student was EINSTEIN.
